About the Library

The CUCUG Library is a collection of Public Domain or 'Shareware' (non-commercial, freely-distributable) software written by CUCUG members and members of other Commodore clubs from across the United States and Canada. We even have a few programs written by users from places such as New Zealand, Japan and Germany. All of our C64 and C128 software is contained on 5 1/4 inch floppy disks compatible with Commodore 1541, 1540, 1571, 4040, and 2031 disk drives. Amiga software is contained on standard 880K Amiga 3 1/2 inch micro-floppies. Macintosh disks are on high-density 3 1/2 disks. These disks are available at any CUCUG meeting for a $5.00 donation to cover media, hardware and program collection costs. For mail orders, add $2.00 for postage and handling (any size order).

The subject matter of our disks is about as varied as the interests of our members. We have utilities, games, children's programs, disk copy programs, music programs, business programs, programming languages, wordprocessors, spreadsheets, modem programs...and the list goes on! At the time of this writing, we have over 200 different disks, each one nearly full. We release one to three new disks each month. That's a lot of software!

Where does all of this software come from? From YOU! As mentioned earlier, many of our programs (in fact, some of our best stuff) is written by CUCUG members. If you write (or just come across) something that might be of interest to other members, you are strongly urged to donate it to the library. If you do donate something that is used, your disk will be returned to you with the CUCUG disk of your choice copied onto it, free of charge.

All of our disks are guaranteed (media only). If you get a bad disk, simply return it at the next meeting and we will exchange it for the same title only--but please do not write on the label or jacket as we cannot accept these for exchange.
